GOLEM

Golem is a short, semi-animated film being made by me, Benjamin Poulten, a member of the Stables Project. It should be finished and premiered at the Stables sometime in July, at the end of the Stables term (hopefully, the exact time and date will be revealed soon).

Click here to watch Golem Loosely based on the Jewish legend, it is set in the present day and tells the story of a young man called Tom Meadows, who is sent by a mysterious organisation to investigate a disturbance in Prague. There, he encounters various horrors including a sinister alien villain called Mikulas Rozinsky.

The finished film will be a combination of live-action, puppetry, stop-motion animation and CGI effects, put through a technique known as digital Rotoscoping. This basically means that the non-animated footage is “drawn over” to make it look animated. In this case, the process is digital.

'The alleyway is misty, there is water dripping down from broken gutters, and the walls of stone and brick are stained.' Extract from the Golem Script
